Govt Urged To Halt The Standard Gauge Railway Project

Fresh opposition to the much talked about standard gauge railway line project is emerging from a civil society group dubbed the Ufungamano Multi-Sectoral Forum. The group contends that the project fails the test of economy as it could be almost three times more expensive compared with the cost of refurbishing the current line to standard gauge status.And as our reporter, Patrick Igunza tells us, the forum is urging the government to immediately put the brakes on this project to allow for wider public debate on its feasibility.
