Debate has arisen over whether the Kenya banks’ reference rate has truly influenced lending rates downwards. This coming a week after the Central Bank of Kenya’s monetary policy committee lowered the kbrr to 8 point 54 percent from 9 point 13 percent, six months after its introduction.
