Joe Muganda resigns from Vivo Energy as Peter Murungi takes over

Vivo Energy Kenya has announced that Peter Murungi will take over from Joe Muganda as the new Managing Director.

Muganda is set to leave the company at the end of November.

“I would like to thank Joe for the contribution he has made as an MD of Vivo Energy Kenya and wish him well for the future.I am certain that Peter will build on the success to steer the organization to even greater achievements,” said Hans Paulsen, the Executive Vice President (East and Southern Africa).

Muganda joined Vivo Energy last year after leaving the Nation Media Group CEO position in January 2018.

He had held the position for one and a half years.

Before that, he served as MD East African Breweries Limited.

His successor Muringi will take over as MD of Vivo Energy on December 1 2019.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration and a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi.

He is a member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply UK and has worked as a Depot Manager in both Mombasa and Nairobi.

He joined Vivo in the year 2007 and four years later, he was transferred to Vivo’s energy operations in Namibia initially as Supply and Distribution Manager before becoming the Supply Manager in 2013.
