Kenya Airways announces forensic audit

Kenya Airways board of governors has commissioned a forensic audit as part of the airline’s turnaround strategy.

The audit, which will be performed by Deloitte Consulting, is expected to support the improvement of the company’s systems, processes and activities.

In a statement to newsrooms on Tuesday, the company stated that the objective of the exercise is to identify areas of weakness and give recommendations.

Meanwhile, the company has gone live with an online programme that gives economy class passengers an opportunity to bid for an upgrade to business class.

According to the new programme, KQ passengers on Economy class will be able to log onto the airline’s website – www.kenya-airways.com – to make an offer at least 36 hours prior to departure for the upgrade.

The passenger will be required to submit their credit card information, booking reference number and their suggested price.

A confirmation email will be sent to the highest bidder for the available seat within 24 hours before check-in to let the passenger know whether their offer was accepted.

“Successful passengers can enjoy all the business class luxuries including fast tracked check-in at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at the Sky Priority counter. Upgraded passengers will have access on KQ world class Pride and Simba lounge and a wide selection of menu options among other features offered by Kenya Airways on its Business Class cabin,” read a statement by the company.
