Kenya Breweries commissions Sh300m water treatment plant

Kenya Breweries Limited has bet Sh300 million on a new water treatment facility to improve the quality of its water supply.

The plant is set to significantly improve the brewer’s water quality and operational efficiency as it seeks to bump up production.

Kenya Breweries Supply Chain Director Patrick Kamugi said the new plant would enable the firm recycle water and reduce its reliance on abstracted water.

“We are excited to see this project come to fruition, given the immeasurable benefits it will yield for our operational efficiency.  The water from this plant will also be available to the neighboring communities as well,” Mr Kamugi said.

The new water treatment plant has the capacity to handle 240,000 liters of water per hour.

Kenya Breweries expects the commissioning to save about 300,000 liters of the eight million the brewer uses on a daily basis.
