Kenya to host conference on plastics

Mid this year Kenya will be playing host to the plastics printing and packaging conference that plans to bring together stakeholders in the ever-growing plastic industry across the continent.

This will happen a year after the country played host to the international plastics conference, an event that prompted one Kenyan couple to venture into the plastics sector.

Now Magana Town is home to just plastics, a young Kenyan company that specialises in the manufacturing of a range of plastic items.

Just Acqua is their anchor product that boasts an array of water and sports bottles, suitably designed to appeal to young parents and school going children and sports enthusiasts.

At an initial investment of Sh35 million, the couple who are of Indian decent have set up a facility with a capacity of producing 110 water bottles an hour and 2700 pharmaceutical bottles an hour.

The water bottles are being old to various retails outlets in Nairobi and Kisumu at between Sh125 and Sh235 a piece.
