Kipngetich to head Jubilee Holdings regional operations

Former Uchumi Supermarkets chief executive officer Julius Kipng’etich has landed a new role as the regional chief executive officer for financial services firm Jubilee Holdings.

The appointment comes two months after he exited Uchumi at the height of its recovery strategy.

Mr Kipng’etich will coordinate Jubilee’s operations across Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, Mauritius and Uganda as the firm moves to consolidate operations.

Mr Kipng’etich has become a highly sought after executive with his work over six years spanning multiple industries.

In a statement, the Jubilee board says it will rely on his expertise in strategy and management to steer operations.

“We wish to advise that the board of directors has appointed Mr Julius Kipng’etich as the regional chief executive officer of Jubilee Holdings Limited with effect from 1st January, 2018,” reads a statement from Jubilee Holdings.

“He brings to the group considerable knowledge and experience in strategy and management,” the firm added.

He has previously worked as the director general of the Kenya Wildlife Service where he instilled a new corporate culture before moving to Equity Bank where he served as the chief operating officer.

He also serves on numerous boards including Standard Media and the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC).
