Kisumu Traders Protest Stall Demolitions
The traders blocked a number of roads leading to the city center but were later repulsed by police officers.
They accused the county government of demolishing their businesses, saying they had been given a one week notice by the county, a time frame which had not yet elapsed.
The traders were later allowed to collect their property.
Kisumu Deputy County Governor, Ruth Odinga has opposed the move, saying Oile Market Traders should have been relocated before demolishing their stalls.
Kisumu County Governor, Joseph Ranguma has said that the county government has already set a place for the traders.
