Speaking to Citizen Digital after the win was announced, KQ Marketing Manager Chris Diaz said that this was just the beginning, adding that greater things are in store for their customers.

“This shows that the future of KQ is great and we’re looking forward to much greater and many more awards. We thank our guests and customers for this great achievement,” he said.

The national carrier has been hit by hard times in the recent past.

In April last year, KQ registered a pre-tax loss of Sh29.7 billion during the 2014-2015 financial year, compared to Sh4.8 billion loss posted in the 2013-2014 financial year.

Asked whether the challenges facing the airline will compromise the quality offered by the airline, Mr Diaz assured that the challenges would not affect service deliver.

“We’re going to give the best quality we can give and aim even higher,” he said.

He also praised KQ staff for being resilient and hardworking, adding that he was confident they would deliver the quality service expected of them.
