KQ mourns pilot Daudi Kimuyu Kibati who died on Wednesday
Kenya Airways has announced the death of Captain Daudi Kimuyu Kibati which occurred on April 1, 2020.
A statement from the national carrier said the deceased was a captain on the 787 Fleet in Operations Department.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Management and staff of Kenya Airways, we join the family of the late Captain Kibati in mourning their beloved one and pray that the Almighty God will strengthen them during this time of sorrow,” said Evelyne Munyoki, KQ’s Chief Human Resources Officer.
Details of the funeral arrangements are to be announced at a later date.
According to the Daily Nation, Cpt. Kibati flew the final KQ flight from New York that was offered as a complimentary service for Kenyans who wanted to come home.

KQ suspended all international flights on March 25, 2020 as per the government directive following the coronavirus pandemic.
