Mumias Sugar Records Losses

Kenya's largest sugar company, Mumias Sugar Company has posted a full year after-tax loss of 2 point 7 billion shillings for the financial year ended 30th June 2014. The loss, which is its second in a row, represents a 63 percent decline into loss making. But as Denis Otieno reports, the sugar company’s management is now banking on a drastic restructuring exercise – that includes reducing the size of its workforce, to get the company onto the path to profitability.
