Nairobi Hospital reinstates Jubilee Insurance to list of cover providers

The Nairobi Hospital has restored Jubilee Insurance to its list of medical cover providers after dropping the underwriter six days ago.

The insurer saw its services withdrawn last Friday over a Ksh.357 million compensation tiff after Jubilee Insurance disputed some of the medical claims forwarded by the hospital.

The arrears dating three years back included 2018 and 2019 packages amounting to Ksh.33 million and Ksh.47.8 million respectively.

Jubilee Insurance did not immediately disclose the terms arrived at with the hospital.

“We are pleased to inform you that normal services at The Nairobi Hospital have been restored. We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to resolve the issues that led to the service interruption,” the underwriter noted in a memo to clients on Wednesday.

Jubilee estimates its dealings with Nairobi Hospital sit northwards of Ksh.1 billion per annum.
