New Maize Prices Announced

It is now official. The government has set the price at which it will buy maize from farmers at two thousand two hundred shillings per ninety kilogram bag. The announcement comes two days after President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered the National Cereals and Produce Board to begin buying maize from farmers. But as Denis Otieno reports, farmers and leaders from the country’s maize growing regions have expressed their dissatisfaction with the price that the government has announced.
