NSE sets up premium digital academy to elevate training

The National Securities Exchange on Thursday launched a premium digital learning platform called the NSE Digital Academy.

It is an online platform incorporating a fully automated Learning Management System (LMS) that will support virtual training and certification as well as a trading simulator which will offer participants the opportunity to have a virtual trading experience.

“The launch of the NSE Digital Academy is a testament of our commitment to enhance access to financial markets education to Kenyans,” said Mr. Geoffrey Odundo, the Chief Executive of the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

“The launch of this academy will increase our public education touch points enabling us enhance market knowledge and awareness, build capacity as well as drive retail and institutional participation on the NSE” he added.

The Academy will provide customized basic and advanced investment certification trainings across various areas in finance, investments, securities trading technology, corporate governance among others to users.

Enrolled users will equally have the opportunity to access learning materials including audio and video content to enhance understanding of various subjects.

The trading simulator will provide a stock simulation platform where users will have a virtual trading experience, learning how to invest and build portfolios using real time stock price information provided by the NSE Automated Trading System.

The NSE will provide Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points for all the trainings that will be undertaken on the NSE Digital Academy.

The NSE PLC is currently an accredited Continuous Professional Development provider by the Capital Market Authority (CMA), the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and the Institute of Chartered Investment and Financial Analyst.

The academy will leverage on mobile and internet connectivity to enhance reach and enable Kenyans easily access market education
