Shilling remains steady against the dollar

The Kenyan shilling today remained broadly unchanged against the U.S. Dollar though stuck at its lowest level against the dollar in three and a half years.

This coming barely a day after the Central Bank Governor Dr. Patrick Njoroge indicated the CBK stands ready to prevent a sharp depreciation of the shilling.

The shilling is now exchanging at an indicative rate of 102.39 buying, 102.60 selling to the Dollar.

It is trading at 111.50 buying, 111.74 selling against the Euro and at 159.97 buying, 160.32 selling to the Sterling Pound.

Closer home, the shilling is exchanging at 7.19 buying, 7.27 selling to the Rwandese Franc, 20.95 buying, 21.09 selling to the Tanzanian shilling and at 32.33 buying, 32.50 selling to the Ugandan shilling.
