Suarez ‘Bites’ Manchester City in Champions League Clash

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez scored a double to increase the chances of Barcelona progressing into the quarter finals in a tough match that ended 2 -1.

Suarez scored twice to prove his worth after £75 million summer move to Barcelona from English side Liverpool.

Quarters Finals

Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero scored a consolation goal for the host after the break but their momentum was halted with Gael Clichy being sent off for a second yellow card.

Suarez’s first goal came in the 15th minute when his left foot shot on the right to the bottom left corner proved too much for keeper Joe Hart, before adding the second just 14 minutes later.
Manchester City scored their goal in the 68th minute though their hopes of getting an equaliser were further disrupted with the dismissal of Gael Clichy in the 73rd minute.

With only a minute to play, Messi got a chance to put Barcelona further ahead when Pablo Zabaleta fouled him in the penalty area but his left footed shot was saved by Hart.

Manchester City now need to score at least two goals and prevent Barcelona from scoring during the return leg set for March 18 at the Camp Nou to ensure qualification into the next stage.
