Trade Talks Between EAC and EU At A Crossroads

The government is upbeat that a deal that will assure Kenyan exports of continued duty free access into the European Union will be reached before the October 1st 2014 deadline. But according to the principal secretary in charge of foreign affairs and international trade, Dr Engineer Karanja Kibicho, three issues remain unresolved in the ongoing talks between the EU and East African Community. Denis Otieno now takes a look at what those issues are and why the region is still not ready to sign the proposed economic pact with the EU.
