Tuskys, Ukwala Supermarkets Fined

In a move that is expected to set a new precedent in the regulation of competition in Kenya, the competition authority of Kenya has penalised tuskys supermarkets and ukwala supermarkets for engaging in cartel-like behaviour. The authority has found tuskys and ukwala guilty of engaging in collusion after ukwala allowed tuskys to manage three of its stores in Nairobi’s central business district. Denis Otieno reports.
