VIDEO:KQ In talks about impending retrenchment
National carrier Kenya Airways has signaled a fresh round of job cuts in an effort of cutting down on its costs.
Hundreds of employees face the sack with the management seeking to turnaround the loss-making airline.
In an interview on Citizen Business Center, KQ Chief Executive Officer Mbuvi Ngunze said discussions are ongoing at the board level, with the airline assessing the right steps to take.
In 2012 the airline sent home 447 of its employees with the hopes of saving 1.3 billion shillings on its wage bill.
Also on the cards is a plan to slash salaries in an effort of saving costs.
Here’s a snippet from that interview.
