Amber Rose breaks down at slut walk forgiving Wiz and Kanye

Amber Rose, an actress and model known for her personal life and style, staged a “Slut Walk” in Los Angeles on Saturday that has numerous people debating the utility of the term and what it represents.

Rose told the Slut Walk crowd about the first time she was “slut shamed” at 14. In a beautiful move, Amber forgave the two worst perpetrators of that behavior against her: exes Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa

“I’ve decided to have this Slut Walk for women who have been through s-t,” Amber told the crowd. Even though I am up here crying, I want to be the strong person you all look up to and to apologize for all guys. I want to forgive Kanye about what he said about me. I want to let all of that negativity go.”

Amber’s heartfelt speech continued by forgiving Wiz, the father of their son ,Sebastian, for his past disses in his music. “Wiz went on to make a song saying that he fell in love with a stripper, but fell out of love quicker,” Amber said. “As you can imagine, him being the love of my life, regardless of us going through a separation or not it was extremely hurtful.”

She revealed something additionally shocking; Wiz came to understood the negative impact of his words, and what he sang about the woman he once loved. “I also forgive Wiz for what he said,” Amber told the crowd. “Wiz actually apologized to me already, so I have forgiven him.”

Slut walks have been around for sometime. They begun in 2011 in response to a frivolous remark allegedly made by a police officer after a flurry of sexual assaults at Canada’s York University.

According to media reports, the officer said: “Women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized.”

Women in Toronto, outraged by the comment, took to the streets dressed in lingerie and skimpy clothing, to spread the message that women should not be subject to sexual violence regardless of what they’re wearing.

Rose a former stripper, who gained fame during her relationships with  Kanye and Wiz, spoke out against the concept of “slut shaming,” or slamming a person for their sexual choices.

“We recognize that shaming, oppression, assault and violence have disproportionately impacted marginalized groups including women of color, transgender people and sex workers, and thus we are actively working to center these groups in this event,” reads a statement on the Amber Rose slut walk page.

“We deeply value the voices of marginalized groups and have a strong desire to find common ground among all of our intersections.”

Rose appeared at the walk wearing black lingerie and her signature platinum blond haircut.

She also carried a sign that said “Strippers have feelings too” and started a chant that’s is not publishable but was about women owning their bodies and having freedom of choice.

The march was attended by “several hundred” people, mostly women. Some wore undergarments and wrote slogans on their skin while a few even went topless.

Online supporters said the Slut Walk message is important for men and women to grasp.

“Closed-minded people see naked women asking for attention from the #AmberRoseSlutWalk but open-minded people understand the message sent,” wrote another.

“Stop shaming women for their bodies and their choices,” wrote J. Emanual on Twitter. “Let them own their sexuality.”

“This ‪#‎amberroseslutwalk is a shame. Instead of it being about defending rape victims it has turned into these crazies wanting to be topless. So what they are saying is that we should all walk around naked and that’ll prevent rape? I’m sorry but I’m confused. Maybe we should teach boys to RESPECT women, instead of women degrading themselves? That’s an idea,” wrote Gabby Mooney on Facebook.

The walk is Rose’s latest effort to end slut shaming; she recently starred in a Funny or Die video titled “Walk of No Shame,” which turns the idea of women sneaking back home shamefully after sexual encounters.
