American singer embarrasses Kenyas Hip-hop star Octopizzo

Top Kenyan Hip-Hop artist, Octopizzo, was embarrased on Thursday after a renowned American RnB singer, August Alsina, denied featuring in Namba Nane’s new hit, ‘This Could Be us.’

Reports indicate that when the Ivo Ivo hit-maker released a teaser for the video of ‘This Could Be Us’, earlier in 2015, it indicated Alsina would feature in it.

After the song’s official video made its debut on August 24th, the name ‘Alsina’ was missing; instead indicating it featured an artiste known as August.

To many excited fans who believed it was Alsina as fronted in the teaser, tagged the U.S. singer while extensively sharing the song on online platforms.

As expected, the tags caught Alsina’s attention, prompting his management on Thursday to deny the collabo claims.

ALSINA-TWEET

Octopizzo, who was quick to retweet Alsina, quickly realised the message was not in his favour, and undid the retweet.

He thereafter deleted the name ‘August’ from his Youtube video, indicating Octopizzo as the song’s sole artiste.

Citizen Digital reached out to the artiste who revealed he has never met the U.S. singer, however, disclosing that his management had contacted Alsina’s management to get details on how they could work together.

Apparently, August liked Octo’s work and he decided to send him a pre-recorded chorus, which he used in his latest song that was recorded in Germany.

“I have not met August Alsina yet. My people sent him my music and he loved it. He then recorded the chorus and sent it to me,” Octopizzo said.
