Dillish Mathews has spoken out on her Valentine’s date with singer Avril’s fiancé.

The Namibian beauty took to her official Instagram page on Thursday to eliminate confusion after Kenyan fans asked if she is indeed dating South African businessman Muga.

A social media user going by the pseudonym Adeh took the bull by the horns and confronted the Big Brother 2013 winner about the claims.

“So @dillishmathews you are trending in Kenya coz people think you snatched Avril’s Man i.e. @muga30. Pliz clear the air. Are you guys an item? Coz I can’t stand people hating on my African princess,” posted Adeh.

Amdeprincess also shared her confusion: “It’s all over Kenya trending that she spent valentines with Avril’s man. Not sure lakini.”

It did not take long before Dillish commented on her photo in which she was pictured alongside Avril’s fiancé.

She stated: “@_adeh_ lol no my darling? He is my friend. I got a boo remember?”

This remark by Dillish brought to an end a controversy that recently hogged showbiz headlines across Eastern Africa.

Adeh ostensibly was satisfied by the ex-BBA contestant’s response and even vowed to spread the word.

“I know dear @dillishmathews and I said that I won’t trust rumors until I hear it from the horse’s mouth. Thank you so much dear for clearing this mess…..now am gonna tag the people who trended the news…,” he wrote.

Ms Mathews has had a rocky relationship with her boyfriend Stephen Gaeseb with 2014 having been a tough year that saw them break up and make-up in a span of three months.

Avril spent Valentine’s Day at Masinde Muliro University in Kakamega where she held a spectacular performance before an expectant crowd.

Wedding plans

The Nikimuona hitmaker in November, 2015 disclosed to Radio Citizen that she would tie the knot in 2016.

“My wedding will happen next year (2016). Most of the time, a wedding ceremony is done for the parents. Once the two families meet and introductions are done, then we can be given the green light to wed,” she intimated.

Background checks being done on her man is what has locked out 2015 as a potential year for her wedding.

“If you are a parent, and your child reaches that age she should settle down, and she’s identified the person she’d love to spend the rest of her life with, you’ll have to conduct a background check on the partner she’s chosen. For my case, there are still some background checks being done,” noted the entertainer.

Only time will tell.
