Bobi Wine survives grisly road accident on New Year’s Eve

Ugandan singer Bobi Wine on Thursday, December 31 survived a grisly road accident that took place along the Old Kira Road in Kampala, Uganda.

The singer said the pothole-filled road has claimed many lives in the past and put the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) on the spot over negligence.

“Dear KCCA, I would like to inform you that your death trap is doing great. Today (December 31) morning, the trench you refused to fix has caused another accident. Many people were injured, I survived narrowly, and part of our Ssemakokiro building was demolished.

“We have been begging you to do your duty but you refused, we asked you to give us permission to save our own lives, you refused. What do you want us to do, how many more people must die before you do something?” posed the ghetto president.

Bobi Wine says residents along the Old Kira Road have threatened to demonstrate since their pleas often fall on deaf ears.

“Why is a two days work taking more than two months? The people are preparing to demonstrate and they will be justified.”

Early December, the Size Yo star mobilized youth in Kamwokya area in barricading the road in a bid to protest against KCCA’s negligence.
