Christmas for lawyers as website hack busts cheating spouses

Christmas has come early for divorce lawyers as fresh cases are piling up thanks to the hacking of one of the world’s popular cheating website, Ashley Medison.

The site, which is very popular in the United States and the United Kingdom, caters to married men and women who are looking for flings.

Dailymail reports: “Bankers, civil servants, peacekeepers, firefighters, journalists, police officers and even Vatican employees have already been outed by the Impact Team because they are considered ‘cheating dirtbags’”

One family lawyer has described the hacking as ‘Christmas in September’ for the industry after names and sexual fantasies of 37 million Ashley Madison members were leaked.

The UK’s largest marriage counselling service, Relate, has also reported an increase in calls by mainly scorned women now questioning their relationships after their partner’s names featured on the ‘cheat sheet’, adds Dailymail.

Nigel Shepherd, a lawyer, has revealed that a married woman has asked him for legal advice after her husband was outed on Wednesday.

Mr Shepherd said: ‘If someone finds out if their partner is set up on a site which exists wholly for facilitating adultery, it’s hardly surprising they are taking advice about it.’

The divorce proceedings, if they go through, will be the first in Britain linked to the site.

Millions of suspicious spouses have crashed websites set up to find names of Ashley Madison cheaters.

One woman who now knows her husband has been cheating on her using the website said: ‘I’ve been devastated all day. My husband is due home tomorrow from a business trip, and now I don’t know what to do’.

She added in a post on survivinginfidelity.com: “I don’t know if I should just take the kids and leave, or have it out with him.”

This is one of the biggest hacking scandals the internet has witnessed.
