Drake responds to Wiz Kid’s birthday Message
WizKid is becoming quite the star.
The Nigerian singer sent Drake, a US-based Canadian artiste, a birthday message on Instagram, “birthday love to @champagnepapi!! You jumping on my record changed everything. Blessings and love to you and yours!”
Unlike many birthday wishes to American artistes that have fallen on deaf ears, the Nigerian artiste got a reply from Drake.
What was Drake’s response? “You already had the wave.”
The rapper disclosed in September that he was “super honoured” to feature in Wiz Kid’s song.
In July, Drake made headlines in Nigeria when he released his remix of WizKid’s hit single, ‘Ojuelegba’ on his new show, OVO Sound Radio.
However, many said that he only agreed to do the remix because he wanted to expand his fan base in Nigeria and consequently globally.
Drake dismissed the rumour mill when he said, “I just did it because I was in the moment.”
The back-to-back hit maker is known for ignoring social media mentions and posts.
During his July feud with Meek Mill, who took to twitter to call out Drake for not promoting his album, Dreams worth more than money, Drake did not reply on the same platform.
Meek Mill’s team later found out that the reason was because Drake had hired a ghostwriter for the song they did together.
Drake instead fired back with two supercharged diss-tracks that Meek tried unsuccessfully to match before Drizzy pretty much shut the whole thing down at OVO Fest in his hometown, Canada in August.
Meek Mill did not take it lying down and saw Drake’s birthday as the opportune time to send a jab as an attempt to ruin Drake’s birthday.
Performing at a concert in his native Philadelphia on Friday night, Meek said that Drake had two left feet dancing in his latest song, Hotline bling.
Drake’s day was, however, not affected by Meek Mill’s jabs.
He enjoyed his birthday, making sure he posted the thoughtful gifts he got on the special day on Instagram.
The star did not forget to give back to his fans, he posted throwback pictures of himself.
Drake reportedly was too excited to sit in the plane on his way to Vegas for his birthday that he danced almost all the way.
However, it was not clear whether the excitement was for his birthday or the reactions to Hotline bling.
