Empire’s Cookie: Lupita inspires me
Empire’s lead actress, Taraji P. Henson, better known by stage name, Cookie, has expressed her admiration for Hollywood sensation Lupita Nyong’o’s short hair.
Despite Taraji looking beautiful in her trademark long hair, she questions if the length of a woman’s hair actually defines beauty.
“As women we put so much emphasis on our hair! As if hair defines beauty?” said the award-winning actress.
Denouncing the societal notion which correlates long hair and beauty, Taraji openly appreciated short hair beauties Lupita Nyong’o alongside Viola Davis among others. She termed them ‘bold’.
“I am always so grateful for women who are free and bold enough to cut it all off @lupitanyongo @vbozeman @violadavis @saintrecords and many more. You all inspire me!”
Taraji, however, says that in spite of her approval of short hair, she cannot chop her hair due to the shape of her head.
“Unfortunately I cannot rock very short hair. The way my head is set up!” She wrote.
