Footballer Mario Balotelli faked injury, skipped training to go buy iPhone 6

Controversial footballer Mario Balotelli during his time at Liverpool courted trouble when he faked an injury so he could get time to purchase an iPhone6.

It all started in the dressing room at Melwood when the Italian footballer’s eyes saw a swanky gadget in his team-mate’s hands.

When he asked the team-mate what he was holding, he was informed it was the new iPhone 6.

Balotelli, who did not yet have Apple’s latest smartphone, was visibly bothered according to observers, report the Liverpool Echo.

Moments later he marched out on to the training field to take part in the warm-up session, but within few minutes he started complaining of discomfort in his hamstring.

The staff immediately sent him back inside to be checked out by the medics.

When the Liverpool squad returned to the dressing room at the end of the 90 minutes training, they were surprised by what they saw: a joyful Balotelli sat in the corner holding a new iPhone 6.

It is reported the striker sent one of his ‘minions’ to get the new gadget.

The pain in Balotelli’s hamstring had miraculously healed when the gadget was passed to him.

Some quarters believe this stunt, among others, pushed Liverpool to show Balotelli the door this summer.

Balotelli has since joined Italian club, AC Milan on one-season loan deal.
