Forget the memes! Leonardo DiCaprio finally wins an Oscar

Patience pays! But for Leonardo DiCaprio, the waiting was unbearable. The long wait is now over, the talented actor managed to win his first ever Oscar Award after six nominations over a period of 22 years.

During the 88th Academy Awards, DiCaprio was named the best actor for his role in the film The Revenant.

The 88th Academy Awards were held at the Dolby Theater on Sunday night celebrating Hollywood’s finest with Chris Rock playing host for the second time.

DiCaprio beat Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl), Matt Damon (The Martian) and Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs), to take home the prestigious award.

For the longest time ever, the Titanic actor had eyed for the Oscar Awards with no success leading to people coming up with different memes of him ‘wanting to win the Oscars’.

The renowned actor took to his social media and made his first tweet after winning the Oscars.

The Oscar Award winner did not forget to thank the people who appreciated his win.
