I will throw ‘Mateke’ until my due date – Gospel singer Size 8

Heavily expectant gospel singer Linnet Munyali, popularly known as Size 8, has revealed that she will continue to dance to Mateke until her due date.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Size 8 said her pregnancy won’t deter her from thrilling her fans on stage.

“I will sing and perform until my due date! How many times have we seen people work till their delivery dates? I too will throw mateke until my baby comes,” told Linnet.

The singer however admitted the intensity of her ‘kicks’ have reduced in strength.

“Right now I am not as vibrant and energetic as I was before the pregnancy. If you’d seen the Mateke the DP and Jaguar were throwing (at Jaguar Youth Empowerment Foundation launch), yangu ilikuwa kadogo tu!” said the vibrant singer.

“He wondered if he’d asked a lot from me in my state; but I told him – no. I am still up to the task.”

Addressing rumours about Ruto paying for her baby’s delivery, she said that the DP urged her to take advantage of the free maternity services offered by the government. That way she could make sure she delivers her baby “for free.”

She told: “It is the government which will pay for my maternity bills, and not the DP. However, Honorable Ruto was passing the message on behalf of the administration.”

Size 8 has settled on Karen Hospital because she has been attending prenatal services at the facility.

“I love Karen Hospital so much. It offers the privacy I need.  Being a public figure, I really need that space. I have been attending my prenatal checkups at the hospital, and I feel at home while at the facility. The services too are good,” said the excited Size 8.

Linnet also disclosed just two weeks since releasing her song, Afadhali Yesu, it has already received its first nomination in Bingwa Awards which will take place later this year.
