Machachari maid opens up about her pregnancy

Machachari actress Sophia, born Sharon Mutuku, shared details about the difficulties she faced during her pregnancy as she celebrated her daughter’s first birthday.

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Sophia said her labour lasted 22 hours.

“I remember when I walked in the hospital; so scared – the stories I was told about labour, wacha tu! However, I had so much love and support. 22 hours of labour and an emergency C-Section, it was not easy,” recalled the film star.

Childbirth is a difficult process, and Sophia credits her family for supporting her through it.

“I thank my hubby who never left my side, my sister Paula Katee, my mum and my mum-in-law,” she told.

The soft-spoken screen star revealed that bringing baby Ivanna into the world is the highlight of her life.

“My happiest day of my life is when I first held her in my arms. I rememeber telling her that I will always love her and protect. She became a part of me (sic).”

Motherhood has brought Sophia much joy, especially now that her daughter can speak: “The joy she gives me when she calls me ‘mama’ is so much. I am so excited, I love her so much.”

Sophia plays the role of a naïve maid in the local series Machachari which airs on Citizen TV on Fridays at 7:30 pm.

When she welcomed her daughter a year ago, she took a break from her acting career but resumed when Ivanna turned three-months-old.

Baby Ivanna has also started her acting career. She’s appeared alongside her mother on several episdodes of Machachari.

Sharon Mutuku has been with her baby’s father for more than two years now.
