Man marries pizza, says it won’t ‘betray’ him

A Russian man has made news headlines across the globe after he tied the knot with food – pizza to be  precise!

The un-named man married a pizza after becoming fed up with being single. The bizarre wedding ceremony took place in a pizzeria in the city of Tomsk in south-central Russia, says Mirror.

The ‘bride’ was thin and crispy and wore a veil. The groom wore his best clean shirt.

The 22-year-old admitted he did not have a ‘deep-pan’ meaningful relationship with his ‘bride’, but had the idea after deciding there was ‘mushroom’ for improvement in traditional relationships between two people.

When he realised there was no woman ‘fit enough’ for him, the man decided to marry his one true love, pizza.

He is quoted by Mirror as saying: “At some point I realised that half of my friends were complaining about their better half, while the others were complaining about the lack of a better half.”

“Love between two humans is a complicated wild thing. I was grateful that I had at least my love of food and then it came to me that actually love for food remains stable no matter what.”

“Pizza would not reject you or betray you, and speaking quite frankly and sincerely, I love it.”

Unsurprisingly, Russian authorities refused to give official permission to register the bizarre marriage at a registry office, and the church also rejected to preside over his ceremony.

In the end, the unusual event took place in one of the city’s pizzerias.

Managers and cooks at the pizzerias ‘handed’ the ‘bride’ to her groom, and even provided the man with a marriage certificate.

The Russian’s unusual ‘marriage’ is not the first of its kind.

Earlier 2015, an American woman named Linda ‘married’ a rollercoaster called Bruce.

Speaking to a US TV station she said: “Some women like tall men, some women like men with a colorful personality, he’s got all of that,” she says in the show.

“To me, Bruce is just amazing when he stands up and is spread out.”
