Mother-in-laws actress tells boyfriend to pay dowry on social media

Popular Mother-in-Law actress, Catherine Kamau, better known by her stage name Celina, has asked her boyfriend and former Tahidi High actor Philip Karanja, alias Melvi, to pay dowry on Social Media.

In what was a light joke on Instagram, Celina described her boyfriend as a ‘bully’ and asked her followers to caption a photo she had posted on the platform.

She later posted the winning meme which saw Melvin asking her if they should get married. She responds by telling him that her father wants him to pay the dowry first.

The meme then continues with Melvin saying that they would ‘talk about it’.

The couple has been very open about their relationship and she was happy to divulge when asked about it.

Speaking to Sunday Nation’s Buzz recently, she cited ‘being a perfect match’ as the main reason why she is not shy to let the whole world know about their connection.

“I think we are the perfect example that you can be in the spotlight and still be together, I mean look at Nameless and Wahu, I think we are the ‘Nameless and Wahu’ of the acting industry. He is part of my life and unfortunately my life is an open book,” she said.

She added that a wedding may be in the offing, but the two will work hard to keep it under wraps.

“People will get to know about our wedding if it happens several weeks later. Right now I’m even thinking to have just 100 guests at very far away destination,” said Celina.

Celina and Melvin have been dating for over a year and four months now, and their love is seemingly burning brighter by the day.

She first made the relationship public in July 2014 through a social media post after she uploaded a photo she had taken with Melvin with the caption: “Ladies and gentlemen, I found Mr. Right.”

Since then, the two lovebirds have been together and have even set up a production company, Phil-It, alongside actor Abel Mutua alias Freddy.
