Moustapha: Why we parted ways with Huddah Monroe after one week

Kenyan rapper Colonel Moustapha has opened up about his past relationship with high-flying socialite Huddah Monroe.

Speaking to KTN’s Str8up Saturday, the Dodoma Singida hit-maker divulged on a wide array of issues – one being his past relationship with Huddah and another, why he thinks Coast-based artiste Nyota Ndogo marshaled a series of attacks against him.

“My love affair with Huddah lasted for a very short period of time. It is true love runs the world, but the one between Huddah and I think lasted for a week or two. Actually for me, it slowed my world,” said Moustpaha.

He intimated that during their short time as lovers he tried the best he could to suit Huddah’s emotional needs.

“I did what was expected from me in the relationship. However, it reached that point I realized I gave quite a lot and my love was not equally being reciprocated – simply put, all was not going well. So we decided to go our separate ways,” Moustapha said.

Asked if he was ‘sponsoring’ Huddah’s lavish lifestyle at the time, he said: “That is the reason my affair with her lasted a week,” adding: “I have never been in a relationship as short as that one!”

Moustapha nevertheless says he has not fallen out with his former flame.

“I don’t have any issue with Huddah. There could have been something in the past, but not now.”

Asked about on Huddah’s farm that she recently bragged about by posting pictures on social media, Moustapha said: “It is good news if she is practicing farming. I am happy for her.”

Nyota Ndogo

For a while now, Moustapha and Nyota Ndogo have been at loggerheads over the rapper’s raunchy video (Dodoma Singida), which he featured semi-nude women dancing provocatively.

Upon its release, Nyota stood up in arms against the video saying Moustapha sexually objectified women.

Moustapha, in his defence, did not take the criticism lying down and retorted – “Nyota wants me.”

“The subtle message Nyota wants to put across to me is she loves me,” he said.

“It is obvious she will come up with such statements, but the truth of the matter is – she loves me,” he affirmed.

Going further, he elaborated: “There’s a Swahili ethnic group where a lady cannot approach a man in a straight forward way and tell him that she loves him. If you meet with her and notify her you love her, she’ll quickly tell you, ‘go away, I want nothing to do with you’. However, deep in her heart she knows she feels something for you.”

Nyota Ndogo has in the past rubbished Moustapaha’s claims that she wants to be romantically involved with the rapper.
