Popular actress passes on in a grisly accident, but did she foresee it?
Nana Gichuru, a popular actress passes on in car accident at Utawala area on the Eastern Bypass. She died after the BMW car she was driving rammed into a construction truck
According to Nairobi’s Traffic Commandant, the youthful air hostess was overtaking another vehicle on a climbing lane when she collided head-on with the trailer.
“The car plunged right under the trailer and she died on the spot. Her body was badly damaged,” Mr Mwamburi said of the 10.10 am accident.
Days before her untimely demise, Gichuru had taken to her social media pages to justify her love for speed. Eerily, the same love for speed lead to her death.
She once posted, “I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom in me in a magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
She added: “The function of man is to live. Not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time. – Jack London.”
The accident dominated social media platforms Tuesday evening where Kenyans posted condolence messages while sharing her memorable photographs and videos.
Nana described herself as “an actor, writer, musician, voice artist, young film maker, entrepreneur, travel junkie, maaard thinker and an unconventional human in Nairobi.”
Nana played various roles in several local productions. She was part of the cast of Maisha Magic’s “How To Find A Husband.”
The actress had released a few singles and was passionate about photography and she had created a website to showcase her work.
The multi-talented actress also wrote stories. In yet another uncanny coincidence, one of her stories (titled bubbles) describes her death to almost exact detail.
She wrote, “… Breathing was one of the easiest things in the world to do…I did it all the time without even thinking about it. Could it be possible that it was the hardest, most painful thing I had to do right now?
The story continues to describe the state in which her mangled body was found: “Were those my boobs hanging out for everyone to see? Was I really this helpless? This was so embarrassing… But yes..it was happening. A Yokozuna army had found a good enough couch atop my chest.”
As online readers went through her account and website, they were left asking one question: Did Nana predict her death?
