Pull Up To Mi Bumper star J Capri is not dead Father

Popular Jamaican Dancehall artiste J Capri’s dad has refuted rumours doing rounds on social media that his singer daughter has passed on.

Claims that the Pull Up To Mi Bumper star died surfaced last week after J Capri, born Jordan Philips, was involved in a grisly road crash along Barbican Square on November 22.

“I feel gutted about it (the death rumour). I don’t know why people would make this up. We’re all going to have moments like this, when we going to need someone to lean on, so be compassionate and put yourselves in other people’s shoes,” appealed Capri’s father Kenneth Philips as quoted as saying by Jamaica Star.

The accident occurred after Capri lost control of the vehicle she was driving, consequently slamming into a wall.

The 26-year-old suffered several broken bones and a concussion. She has since been placed in a medically induced coma at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Jamaica.

According to Mr. Philips, the doctors treating J Capri are saying the singer is likely to recover fully without any permanent damage.

Mr. Phillips recently told Jamaica Star that his daughter is still in induced coma, but is in stable condition and is improving.

He noted that she is now breathing on her own and is not attached to any machines.

Capri’s dad said based on these encouraging signs, doctors at the University Hospital of the West Indies believe there is a strong possibility for full recovery.

“The doctors said the first two to three days were the most difficult, so she has past the worst,” Mr. Phillips said.

Doctors have, however, not indicated when they will revive the singer from the induced coma, but the singer’s father explained that they will do so when the swelling in her brain subsides.

Mr. Philips has asked Capri’s fans in Jamaica and all over the world to continue praying for his daughter, as he is seeing the results of their prayers.

J Capri is known for songs such as Wine and Kotch with Charly Black, Pull Up To Mi Bumper with Konshens and more recently, Boom and Ben Over.
