Relief as Sitya Loss kid, Patience Nabakooza, gets out of coma

Sitya Loss fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as beloved child dancer, Patience Nabakooza, has gotten out of coma.

Eddy Kenzo made the announcement late Monday night, adding that Nabakooza is now able to sit on her own. She was also able to drink tea and recognize people.

This comes as a much needed reprieve for BIG Talent Entertainment that is reeling from the loss of fellow Ghetto Kids dancer and Sitya Loss performer, Alex Ssempija.

Ssempija passed away on Monday, November 30 following a bicycle accident. Reports indicate the the bike brakes failed as the children were cycling down a hill.

After the accident, Nabakooza was rushed to Casee Clinic in Kampala, Uganda where she was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Speculation about the crash was rife on the internet, and there were very many conflicting accounts about the happenings of the day.

Anne Whitehead of Whitehead Communications, one of the first to break the news, clarified the facts of the accident.

“It was not a boda boda. No, bicycle on a hill, breaks failed and fell into a ditch. This is the second kid I’ve heard of in a week getting in a serious accident while playing with a bicycle and falling into a road-side trench,” she said.

The two were playing after completing class 7 exams.

Singer Eddy Kenzo confirmed that 14-year-old Alex Ssempijja died Monday night, succumbing to injuries from the bicycle accident.

Kenzo has continued to inform his fans about Nabakooza’s progress thanking them for the support and has urged people to continue supporting them with prayer.

He has also thanked footballer, Emmanuel Adebayor who showed his support for the young dancer on his Instagram account.

“Thank you Emanuel adebayor for supporting our Patricia and all of you guys thank you so much. God is in control.”

Besides winning global fans’ hearts the Sitya Loss video won Kenzo and Uganda a BET award 2015.
