“Shine bright like a diamond…we’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky,” Barbados-born star Rihanna sang – and now she is doing just that.

Rihanna has broken Michael Jackson’s Billboard record by having her song Work, which featured Drake, top the billboard hot songs 14 times.

The 28-year-old singer has joined the list of musicians who have had the highest n hits in the history of the chart. Currently, the Man down hit-maker holds the third position with Mariah Carey coming in at second position with a total of 18 times and the Beatles scooping the top position having made it at number one for 20 times.

Work is from her latest album Ant’ which was released in late January.

According to Billboard, Work holds the second position on the digital songs platform having improved by 5 per cent, after debuting at number 1 on the ranking three weeks ago, and lifts 13-10 on radio songs (76 million, up 21 percent).

Her other Billboard chart-topping songs include, Umbrella, Rude Boy, Disturbia, Only Girl in the World, Love the Way You Lie, What’s My Name, Live Your Life, Monster, S&M and finally the song Diamond.

Aside from breaking Michael Jackson’s Billboard record, the song Work beat Justin Bieber’s song, Love Yourself.
