Rwandan President Paul Kagame slams Slimpossible contestant, angers KOT

Rwandan President Paul Kagame stirred a storm on Twitter after he blasted Slimpossible 4 contestant Levi Kones.

Kagame, who has been listed as one of Africa’s top leaders on Twitter, took to social media to thank “the tireless legal team, friends and the unbreakable Rwandan spirit.”

Kagame’s tweet garnered numerous reactions with many linking his remarks to the upcoming 2017 elections where Kagame is expected to make a controversial third term bid.

Slimpossible season 4 contestant, Levi Kones, was amongst those who responded to Kagame’s tweet. He warned the president against besmirching his legacy.

The Rwandan President told Levi off saying that he should redirect his energies to his own legacy.

Kagame’s response, which received over 200 re-tweets, prompted further reactions from Kenyans on Twitter (KOT). Using #SomeoneTellKagame, KOT expressed their views about the exchange.

Though the conversation was initially skewed against the leader’s remarks, some KOT used the trend to admonish social media users who were busy ‘meddling in Rwandan affairs while Kenya had a lot that needed improvement’.

#KOT there is no logic in Kagame claiming that out of 300 million people he is the only one who can lead #SomeoneTellKagame
