#TBT Photos: A decade of undying love – The day Wahu, Nameless said ‘I do’

They are admired and looked up to by most fans and followers – the young and the old: Kenya’s power couple of Nameless and Wahu has been in union for 10 years now.

It’s interesting how time flies.

The celebrated pair has managed to keep their romance a private affair; only giving the public a little glimpse into their lives.

However, what many may not know is that their love was brewed at the University of Nairobi where they birthed their music careers.

It is in campus where Wahu spotted David Mathenge aka Nameless while performing and their love blossomed.

Wahu once told Chano8, “We met at a University function through a mutual friend. We clicked immediately, as if we’d been friends for a long time. He made me laugh without even trying! I definitely wanted to meet him again and again, though I had to pretend to play hard-to-get.”

After wide spread speculation back then, the celebrity couple held one of the most colourful weddings which made a splash in 2005.

Since then, the fairy tale of love has been more than fair to the pair, which is blessed with two lovely daughters – Tumiso (9) and Nyakio (2).

Nameless celebrated his 39th birthday on August 10, just a day after his second-born daughter, Nyakio Mathenge, celebrated her second.

The ceremony prompted the singer to pour out his heart, appreciating his wife of 10 years whom during 2015 World Mothers’ Day celebration he called: ‘Mother of the Century’.

He said: “As I celebrate my birthday today I just want to thank God for all of you who have made a positive impact in my life… Most importantly my wife and kids for being my rock, my joy and my life! To God be the glory!” (Sic)

Wahu in response, said: “It’s definitely birthday month at the Mathenge’s! Please help me wish my darling husband a Happy Birthday! Me and the girls love you so much! May God continue to prosper you in all you do. May He continue to give you wisdom, and may you live to blow a zillion candles! Happy birthday babe.” (Sic)

Evidently, the two are in love and are seemingly passing the test of age.
