Tiwa Savage’s album breaks record in 24 hours
Tiwa Savage released her 16-track album R.E.D on Saturday and it has broken the one day record of the highest streaming downloads on MTN music.
It has also become the most streamed album of all time on the MTN music in 24 hours.
Mavin Records, the recording label that she is currently signed to, shared this on social media.
It was also responsible for making it available for free which has caused the site to crash due to too much traffic.
Exclusive owner of Mavin, Don Jazzy, Tee Bills and the singer herself produced the album.
Don Jazzy, is a Nigerian multi award-winning record producer, singer-songwriter, musician, former CEO of Mo’ Hits Records and current CEO of Mavin Records
He has produced tracks for Dr SID, Wande Coal, Emeka Infiniti, D’Prince, Darey, Naeto C, Olakunle Excel et Zanga, Sauce Kid, Ikechukwu & Tiwa Savage.
He also collaborated with Jay-Z and Kanye West on the production of Lift Off, featuring Beyoncé on the album Watch The Throne, released on 8 August 2011.
The R.E.D album features collaborations with Don Jazzy, Olamide, Dr. Sid, Iceberg Slim, 2Face, DPrince, Busy Signal and Reekado Banks.
This comes a day after the sultry songstress released the video of her single African Waist.
The R.E.D acronym is for Romance, Expression and Dance.
As part of the promotion of RED, Tiwa and the entire Mavin crew, on Saturday, began spurring their fans on an ‘I am RED’ campaign on social media.
On the website, fans’ images are uploaded and using words beginning with R, E, and D, define their essence.
Creating his own, Don Jazzy, with a picture of himself, set in a hue of red, got a display of ‘I am Razz, Enigma, Dorobucci.’
Though the music is available on the MTN online platform, physical copies of the album are not out yet.
She released her debut studio album Once Upon a Time on 3 July 2013,
