Citizen Television’s Sports anchor Waihiga Mwaura on Friday December 18 tied the knot with the love of his life gospel singer Joyce Omondi in a colourful ceremony which was held at the lush Sawela Lodge in Naivasha.

Waihiga, who is a very spiritual person, chose to go all white with the groom’s men dressed in three-piece black and white suits.

In attendance were Citizen Television’s Willis Raburu, Bernard Ndong, Patrick Igunza, Kirigo Ng’arua, former reporter Sally Mbilu among other high profile personalities.

The attendees clearly had a good time at the event. They shared their experience with Citizen Digital.

Willis Raburu, Citizen TV anchor and reporter

“The wedding was amazing; very great! It was such a priceless feeling witnessing two beautiful souls I know personally tie the knot, and I wish them good union as they plan to multiply and fill the earth.”

“The turnout was good; the colour was great – the couple has an extremely good taste; harusi ilipendeza! I just want to be the godfather of their children (laughs).”

Kirigo Nga’arua, Citizen TV anchor

“The highlight was the amount of love I saw the couple receive from friends and family through song and dance. It was truly a joyous celebration and priceless. I wish Waihiga and Joyce a beautiful and amazing journey ahead filled with God’s blessings because they truly deserve it!”

Patrick Igunza, Citizen TV reporter

“I wish them (Waihiga and Joyce) all the best in their marriage. It is such a blessing to witness a colleague who lives a spiritual life get married to a very deserving and able woman. The cake was sweet and I loved the shape. I also noted the bride and the groom with their maids and best men respectively looking dapper in their outfits.”

“The wedding’s venue too was exquisite – very green grass, calm weather and a good setting.”

“We were very much entertained by the gospel music which was played at the event; it uplifted our faith. The Royal Media family too performed a dance for Mr and Mrs Mwaura; they evidently enjoyed it.”

Leah Ngechu, Citizen Digital reporter

“The wedding was glamourous and exquisite, with the religious bit crowning it all.”

Mrs Mwaura – Joyce Omondi was a co-host of the popular Rauka Gospel Music programme on Citizen Television with Njugush of K-Krew before leaving the show in 2013 to pursue a Master’s degree in International Development at the Georgetown University in Washington.

Two years later Joyce Omondi returned to Kenya; and now it felt right for her to make the next move in her life which is to settle down with the man after her own heart – Waihiga Mwaura.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
