Why Michelle Morgan quit her news anchor job at K24
Screen siren Michelle Morgan has quit her job as a news anchor at K24 Television. The TV girl says her love for outdoor activities and extreme sports has contributed immensely to informing her decision to resign.
The vibrant presenter quit the station and signed up as the host for an outdoor extreme sports programme called Xtreme Outdoors Africa (XOA).
The television series follows its presenters on thrilling adventures across Africa as they take part in extreme sports and outdoor activities.
In a video posted by XOA on YouTube on Wednesday, February 24 Ms Morgan said she “resigned from K24 in a very positive light” and that she is going to pursue her “hobby”.
“I resigned as a news anchor at K24 in a very positive light. It was a very amicable separation… In my career as a news anchor, I cultivated love and passion for outdoor activities. It is what I love. I love adrenaline, I love extreme activities and this is the next chapter.”
The motorbike enthusiast says her new venture creates an atmosphere of excitement.
“Motorbiking is one of my hobbies. Getting on my bike and getting out of town and going off-road… I have done sky-diving and I love water and motor sports,” she said of her love for extreme outdoor activities. I am excited to be the host of XOA… traversing Africa and showcasing how Africa is breathtaking. It’s exciting and it’s true to who I am and this is the next stage in my career.”
Morgan joined K24 in March, 2015 as a news anchor after a short stint with Ebru TV in the same position. She had earlier worked for Citizen Television as business news presenter.
Benny Langa, a well-known South African actor and presenter, is the other XOA host.
