Willis Raburu reveals his biggest regret as he turns 29
Citizen Television news anchor and reporter Willis Raburu has turned 29 on April 1, and no…it’s not a prank.
While there are many things that the charismatic Power Breakfast presenter has to celebrate, the 29-year-old says that he has one major regret, and it happens to be a humanitarian one.
“My biggest regret is not helping enough people – which is very hard. That explains why I am looking for a lot of money,” Raburu told Citizen Digital.
The Kisumu-born TV host says that he feels this reget tug at his heart more when he goes back home.
“There are things I go home and wish I could do. I did not help as many people in the past, and it is something that I have thought over and I am ready to pursue. I have learnt from the past and moved on.”
Willis Raburu also shared three key highlights of his life as he edges closer to becoming a tricenarian.
Key highlights
“When I was 24 and I got hired by Citizen Television straight out of campus – that was a very pivotal point in my life. Many did not believe that one can get employed at a reputable organization without having ‘key’ connections. The job came at a time when I had been turned down by other local TV stations – they told me I did not have the right type of voice for broadcast,” he said.
“Another highlight for me was two months ago when I lost 6kgs. That is the largest body weight I have ever lost. I did a lot of detoxification and healthy eating. I might have gained some (weight) back, but I am going to hit the gym soon.”
“Another highlight is when I was 18. My dad believes that one shouldn’t possess a phone before they become an adult; so when I reached 18 and got my first Nokia 3310, I was very elated,” said Willis Raburu.
Happy birthday Willis – don’t grow up, don’t wear a tie!
