Willy Paul reaches out to Bahati, delivers emotional message

Gospel singer Willy Paul has on Saturday reached out to his ministry counterpart, Bahati, in a long emotional message.

Things have not been good between the two award-winning artistes, and their beef made headlines when Bahati accused the Sitolia star of stealing his music.

However, it seems the rift between the two could soon come to an end following Willy Paul’s emotive message to Bahati where he said that he wants to bury the hatchet.

Taking to his official Facebook page, Willy addressed his gospel colleague: “Bahati, today I woke up with my heart feeling so heavy; feeling that there’s something missing.”

He added: “I want to talk about a brother that I have not been in good terms with, a brother who was a real brother before all the fame.”

Recognising the genesis of their differences, Willy continued: “I know many might hate me because they were made to believe that I stole which was never the case, so today I stand here to make peace and to ask anyone who I might have offended to forgive me. I am only human; no man is perfect.”

In a bid to show his commitment and willingness to make peace with Bahati, Willy offered to record a song with him, saying: “I want us to do a clean ministry, no competition. If possible, collaboration with Bahati would really show unity among our followers and listeners.”

“So my brother Bahati, let’s come together, put our differences aside and join hands in taking our ministries to the next level,” he urged.

Why has it taken so long for the two to patch things up? Willy Paul admits that egos have a played a part in the conflict, but he said that he’s lowered his pride in search of reconciliation.

Good old days

The singer also recollected the ‘good times’ when the two were best of friends.

“I remember when we first both won, we were best of friends. I won the male artist 2013 and you won the new artist 2012; we were both happy. We spent the night at my place with joy in our eyes as brothers.I wonder what happened,” he told.

Willy Paul added that the fall out has really hurt him, saying he wishes they bury the competition mentality soon.

“I am writing this from deep down my heart. We have given the devil a chance in our lives and that’s why all these is happening.”

“Let’s not make it look like a competition because that’s not what it is. It’s ministry and the only way we can do that is by forgiving one another, working together and moving forward,” concluded the Tam Tam hit-maker.
