Photos: Who was the best dressed celebrity bride?

2015 has so far proved to be the year of weddings in my world.

I have so far attended far too many weddings and now the gossip atmosphere has been occupied by talks of bridal parties, dowry ceremonies, wedding committees and most of all wedding gowns.

The wedding fever has captured my mind, and at times I find myself thinking about my ideal wedding which makes me have a look at the best weddings of all time.

However much we see and talk about other elements of a wedding like décor, cake, and theme, it is the bride’s wedding gown that has always been a point of discussion in any wedding.

So in my wedding fetish mood, I had a look at different weddings and asked around about the ones that stood out (of course those whose photos are open to the public) and all pointed at the Kenyan celebrity
weddings of 2015.  It is worth noting that the list of media personalities who have tied the knot in 2015 is considerably long.

Janet Mbugua

It all started with Citizen TV’s Janet Mbugua who tied the knot with her fiancée Eddie Ndichu on the 30th of May in a wedding full of glitz and glamour; from the stunning bride to the invited guests.

The invites-only wedding, held at Chaka Ranch in Nyeri County, brought together the bride and groom’s family, friends and colleagues to celebrate the special day.

The stunning Janet was in a stylish and elegant ‘Mermaid gown’ that had a beautiful marmaid taila and a v-shape bare back which she credits to the Bridal Boutique.

Betty Kyalo

Last month, the wedding between Betty Kyalo and NTV’s Dennis Okari held at Marula Manor in Karen set new social media trend with minute by minute updates of the ceremony on Twitter.

Betty wore a glamorous ‘ball gown’ with a clinched natural waist that gave her a curvy and elegant look.

Annabel Onyango

Let’s not forget Fashion Watch panelist Annabel Onyango who married Sauti Sol’s manager, Marek Fuchs, in a star-studded ceremony which took place at the lush Great Rift Valley Lodge in Naivasha on Saturday, September 19.

Annabel wore a classic gown custom-made by renowned designer Galina Tatarinova. Her dress was hand-sewn lace bodice top and an ivory silk skirt with yet another overskirt.

Syombua Mwele

Radio Citizen presenter Syombua Mwele also tied the with her long-term fiancée David Osiany in a glamourous and colourful wedding ceremony that  was held at Maxwell Nairobi Central SDA church, followed by a reception at Wonderjoy Gardens in Ridgeways Nairobi.

Syombua looked stunning in her ‘princess gown’ that she designed herself and had it tailored by Marina Bridal from Italy.

From Janet Mbugu’a Mermaid Gown, to Betty Kyalo’s Ball Gown, Annabel Anyango’s Classic Gown and Syombua Mwele’s Princess gown, which wedding gown deserves be crowned the Celebrity Wedding gown of 2015?
