Adele breaks down in tears after dedicating concert to victims of Orlando shooting

Singer Adele broke down in tears on Sunday (June 12) as she dedicated her concert to the victims of the Orlando night club shooting.

The songstress was performing a show at Antwerp in Belgium and started her set by paying tribute to the Florida City.

“I’d like to start tonight by dedicating this entire show to everybody in Orlando, and at Pulse nightclub last night,” she said.

Adele also expressed her sadness over the nature of the shooting, which took place at a gay club.

“The LGBTQ community… they’re like my soulmates since I was really young, so I’m really moved by it,” said the singer through tears.

She apologised to her fans for crying so early in her performance, saying all of her songs were, “miserable”.

Adele is just one of the many celebrities who paid tribute to the 50 victims of the attack, which President Barack Obama called “the most deadly shooting in American history.”

James Corden opened the Tony Awards on Sunday night, honouring those who were killed.

“Hate will never win,” he said.

Theatre producer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda also made an emotional speech while accepting a Tony award, “Love is love is love is love is love is love is love,” he said.

Adele will play in Antwerp until June 15 and will restart her tour in Saint Paul, Minnesota on July 5.
