A man who had been dumped by his fiancée because he was “broke” was treated to a lavish wedding as Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja became his driver for the day.

William Mwaura and his new partner Marion Kinya were treated to a VIP convoy which included the Senator’s Lexus LX570 and two chase cars.

“Honored to have been the driver to William and Kinya on their wedding today. Their story touched us all and has taught us to never look down on anyone because of their current circumstances.

“You never know what God has planned for them tomorrow. William had been rejected by his former fiancée’s family because he was poor. But God has opened doors of blessings for him. God bless their union,” Sakaja said.

Earlier, the Nairobi Senator joined Marion’s family at her home, singing and dancing as she was carried shoulder-high into his car.

Ni gwendete Mwathani, ni gwendete (I love you Lord)…,” they sang, ululating as they celebrated their good fortune. White flowers, blue and red ribbons decorated the bonnet of the white Lexus.

Sakaja then drove Marion, her bestmaid and flower girl to church as Mercy Masika’s hitsong Mwema played on the stereo:

“Na siwezi jizuia
Kusema wako wema
Na sio kama najigamba
Umenitenda mema
Na siwezi jizuia
Kusema wako wema
Na sio kama najigamba
Umenitenda mema
Umekuwa mwema kwangu.”

At the Jesus Winners Ministry Church in Roysambu; William, his family and friends could not contain their joy as Sakaja joined them for the wedding ceremony.
