Dwayne Johnson ‘The Rock’ announces release date for Black Adam

Dwayne Johnson has announced that ‘Black Adam’ will make its debut on December 22, 2021.

In his new standalone film that was created by Otto Binder and C. C. Beck, the main character is the enemy of Shazam (played by Zachary Levi).

“Like most kids growing up, I dreamed about being a superhero. Having cool superpowers, fighting for what’s right and always protecting the people,” he said on Instagram.

He revealed that this all changed for him when he was 10yrs old and was introduced to Superman.

Johnson said he realized that Superman was the hero he could never be as he was too rebellious, unruly and resistant to authority.

However, years later, he decided irrespective of his nature, he would make his superhero dreams come true.

“Black Adam is blessed by magic with the powers equal to Superman, but the difference is he doesn’t toe the mark or walk the line,” Johnson said.

The actor dwelt on the rebellious nature of Black Adam saying the main character depicts the true nature of Dwayne Johnson: a man who will always do what is right for the people, but he does it his own way.

“This role is unlike any other I’ve ever played in my career and I’m grateful to the bone we’ll all go on this journey together,” he said.
