East Africas Got Talent judges finally unveiled

Four East Africa’s Got Talent judges have finally been revealed in a much anticipated ceremony, for one of the world’s most popular reality television shows.

They are: Citizen TV’s top show host Jeff Koinange; Gaetano Kwagwa–renowned for his debut in Big Brother Africa in 2003 and currently a radio presenter at CapitalFM Uganda; Vanessa Mdee–a Tanzanian singer and songwriter and finally, DJ Contact Makeda from Rwanda.

Ugandan Queen of Comedy Anne Kansiime will be the host for the show that is expected to hit television screens next month.

It will be aired on Citizen TV (Kenya), Clouds Media  (Tanzania), Rwanda Broadcasting Agency and NBS TV (Uganda).

Sponsored by Safaricom and Coca Cola Africa, the top East Africa show has already attracted thousands of fans who turned up for the auditions.

“This will be a platform to display the talent of people of all ages who have any gift that they would like to share with the world,” Safaricom chief customer officer Sylvia Mulinge said during the launch in April.

The Guinness World Records recognised the ‘Got Talent’ show as the world’s most successful reality TV formats.

The Nairobi auditions for East Africa’s Got Talent were held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre on June 1 and 2.

In Mombasa, auditions took place at the Nyali Primary School on May 19.

Online entries were also submitted via an official WhatsApp number and through the website.

The show which was founded by British talent competition judge Simon Cowell runs in 58 countries and will now have Kenya, Uganda Tanzania and Rwanda onboard.
