How the Kilimanjaro Music Awards went down

The Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards (KTMA) 2015 went down on Saturday night, in an event that was not open to the public.

The annual event seeks to award different artists in 33 categories.

Some of the biggest names in the Bongo took to the stage with electric performances that Kenyan artists need to emulate.

Ommy Dimpoz’s performance was a hit among those in attendance.

Songbird Vanessa Mdee took to the stage with her powerful vocals charging the crowd.

Vanessa Mdee won in two categories; Best Female artist of the year and Best female artist in Bongo flava.

Popular Tanzanian band Vijana Ngwasuma took to the stage and left fans asking for more.

Vijana had been nominated in the Best Swahili song category.
